Agentless

What does “agentless” mean?

Agentless refers to a security approach that does not require installing additional software, agents, or monitoring tools directly on the device being analyzed or protected. Instead, agentless solutions perform analysis externally without modifying the device or consuming its resources. This method enables easier deployment, avoids performance impact on the device, and eliminates the risks associated with deploying and maintaining software agents across large device fleets. Additionally, in mobile device instances, agentless deployments eliminate end user privacy concerns.

Unlike Mobile Threat Defense (MTD) solutions, Q-scout, Quokka’s mobile app vetting solution, deploys agentlessly, enabling proactive mobile security. Q-scout integrates with MDMs, such as Microsoft Intune, Hexnode UEM, Ivanti Neurons for MDM, and more, and automatically ingests mobile app inventories. Mobile apps are then analyzed with Quokka’s proprietary, defense-grade engines to identify security, privacy, and compliance threats and risks. The analyses are then ingested back into the MDM to trigger alerts and rules, enabling organizations to proactively prioritize and address app risks.
